Toshio Hosokawa’s new opera Stilles Meer (“Silent Sea”), which features Bejun Mehta in the role of Stephan, is now available for purchase on DVD via Amazon / Amazon.de / jpc.de. This powerful and poignant work is dedicated to the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan (2011) and was performed at the Hamburgischen Staatsoper. The world premiere cast also included Susanne Elmark, Mihoko Fujimura, Viktor Rud, Marek Gaszteck, and Yui Sato, with the Vokalsolisten Hamburg and Philharmonisches Staatsorchester Hamburg under the direction of Kent Nagano.
