Director Keith Warner has crafted a unique production that combines elements of silent film and baroque opera, reminiscent of the classic film Cleopatra, starring Elizabeth Taylor, Rex Harrison, and Richard Burton. The cast of singers, which includes renowned countertenors Bejun Mehta and Christophe Dumaux, is led by the captivating performance of Louise Alder as Cleopatra. Additional standouts in the group include Patricia Bardon, Simon Bailey, and Jake Arditti, with Ivor Bolton conducting the Concentus Musicus Wien.
